I won’t hesitate to say that this by far the best bowling alley I have ever been to, and I can’t wait to go back! This review is a little post-dated, as I visited it over the holidays last year and am just getting around to writing about it now, as it popped in my head as I’m likely to go there in the next week when I visit my parents for Christmas in Fort Myers.

Long story short – seriously, if you’re in the area and want some great bowling with some cool features – go here!

HeadPinz Bowling Review

What sets this place apart from your usual local bowling alley is the technology that they employ. When you get to the console to set up the bowlers, you’ll see so many options. There is a camera to take a selfie with and it asks you to make a few different faces. I can’t remember exactly, but I think there’s an option for a regular face, an excited and happy face, and a mad or sad face.

As you bowl, if you get a strike, for example, your avatar (which is displayed next to your name on the scoreboard) will change to your happy face. If you get a gutterball, you’ll see the mad face. They also have animations that happen between shots, with your face being transposed on an animated body and interacting with the other bowlers in your group.

All in all, it adds a fun element to bowling rather than just a standard, plain scoreboard. If I remember correctly, it also has the functionality to connect with your social media profiles but don’t quote me on that. I just thought it was really cool and made the afternoon there more fun, wondering what kind of animations you’ll see next and what they do with each of the bowlers’ characters.

It’s a holiday tradition that we all go out bowling as a family over Christmas, and we used to go to Gator Lanes, but ever since this place opened up and we visited it for the first time last year, I have a feeling that this will be our new standard. My dad picked up the tab and I’m guessing that it is more expensive than the usual rate you would expect, but all the added features make it more than worth the price.

If you are in the Fort Myers area, definitely check this place out for a good time! They also have, like you would expect, a food and beverage menu and they’ll keep the pitchers of beer flowing. In one section of the facility, they also have an old-timey lane that is a nice throwback to the past, and you can rent it out for a private party in a really cool setting. Can’t wait to go back!
