Himmarshee Public House

My girlfriend and I are regulars on Himmarshee Street, between us going there every Tuesday for our run club that meets at Bull Market and just generally going out there for dining and entertainment. While we’ve been to Public House for drinks before, we hadn’t been there a meal yet so we figured it was the time we did just that.

Last Friday we were in the area after enjoying an afternoon at the pool at a friend’s right around the corner, so we decided since we were close enough to Himmarshee we’d find some dinner there. Since Public House is right there on the corner, it’s the first thing you see, so it was the time that we gave it a shot.

Himmarshee Public House Fort Lauderdale Review

We got a table right by the window so we could see all the activity outside on the sidewalk, as well as a view of the bar area, all the TV screens and everything else. The first thing we noticed was before even asking for a couple of waters while we decided on drinks, there was a large glass bottle (carafe size) of ice cold water for us to have. That’s a nice touch and we never went thirsty the rest of the night.

Their beer and cocktail menu was great! My girlfriend got a margarita and I tried out a beer I hadn’t had before. The cocktail list is extensive and fancy, and there are over 100 beers to choose from. Those are definite pluses in my book!

Everything on the food menu looked great. It is a little bit pricier than other options in the area, but not exorbitantly so. I decide on the turkey and brie melt. It was made of roasted turkey breast, granny smith apples, creamy brie cheese, and cranberry apple jam. Very similar to the sandwich I got at Pink Sub in Wilton Manors earlier in the week. It was amazing and the french fries were great as well. My girlfriend got the quinoa salad which came with kale, cherries, butternut squash, granny smith apples, almonds, and citrus vinaigrette.

We had a great evening at @publichouseftl last Friday! Check our site for the full review!

There are a lot of menu items we’d like to try, beers and cocktails we’d love, and a brunch menu that looks to die for, so we’ll absolutely be back. Everything about our evening at Himmarshee Public House was perfect. Over 30 TVs and 100+ beers. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, we didn’t have a want all night. Just the way it should be!

This is a happening place with a great location on 2nd Street in Fort Lauderdale and I think that it will definitely become more of a regular place for us. Definitely give it a try if you’re in the area, then go enjoy some live music down the street at Fat Cat’s!
